The Joburg Theatre Complex (previously The Johannesburg Civic Theatre)
Mapungubwe & the Joburg Theatre have entered a reciprocal relationship whereby guests can enjoy the comforts of Mapungubwe whilst simultaneously enjoying the finest of South African Theatre on their doorstep. Mapungubwe is kept abreast of what is planned at the theatre well in advance. In addition, avid theatre goers visiting The Joburg Theatre Complex can now enjoy four star accommodation without being plagued by a lengthy post theatre journey home.

The South African Ballet Theatre (SABT)
Mapungubwe and SABT have also entered into an exciting relationship whereby both parties can benefit one another. SABT is South Africa’s largest professional ballet company and presents four full-length seasons of ballet a year - Mapungubwe is advised at least a year in advance of what is planned. Many of the ballet production are held close by at The Jo’burg Theatre. In addition, SABT has offered any Mapungubwe guest the privileged opportunity of attending a Saturday morning ballet rehearsal at The Jo’burg Theatre for a ‘behind-the-scenes’ glimpse of what goes into the preparations for a ballet production.
