At Mapungubwe we strive to offer our guests the best, with regards to every service we have on our portfolio. Our conferencing service is no exception. We have an exciting array of venues, both on and off- site that can host anything from an intimate dinner for 10 to a large cocktail function for up to 1000 guests. Conference packages can be tailor made to best suit your needs and all the logistical arrangements are taken care of by us at Mapungubwe.

 

Besides the stylish venues that we offer there are also a variety of different menus and equipment that can be made available for those wanting to use one of the conference facilities for a long period of time.

Our on site conference venues


The Vault 1 & 2

 

The Vault@Mapungubwe belonged to the French Bank years ago. Once the bank’s vault, it has been revamped and redecorated to compliment the sophisticated yet edgy design of the rest of the hotel. The venue has been converted into 2 up market conference/training and meeting facilities. Vault 1 can seat up to 20 guests and Vault 2 up to 45. Both of these lavish venues have a flat screen TV which guests are able to make use of during their function. Both venues share a private reception area in which guests are able to relax in and enjoy during breaks.

 

These eloquent, stylish conference venues are also the perfect places to host private parties of all sorts. Whether it’s a wedding reception, birthday, anniversary or Christmas party, the Vault@Mapungubwe is one of the most tasteful conference venues in Johannesburg.

 

 

The Round Room


Our Round Room is an exclusively private conference venue just adjacent to Twist@Mapungubwe Restaurant. This stylish facility accommodates up to 16 people so it is perfect for intimate and private breakfasts, lunches and dinners or small conferences. Our guests usually make use of this conference venue for both corporate and private functions. The restaurant menu is the perfect combination of fine cuisine and adventurous flavors and is available to all guests making use of this sleek corporate venue.

 

The facility is also fitted with sound proof doors, making it the perfect place to host a conference, meeting or personal function.

Gold Reef City

This superb conference centre has a variety of set up options to suit all different types of meetings, conferences, product launches and exhibition requirements. Formal banquets as well as weddings are also catered for with a variety of tailor-made menus designed to offer the very best in taste and suitability to your individual requirements.

 

The conference venue boasts: full, 9 meter span, Show Stopper stage and artist change room, dance floor, mobile staging, 550 cocktail, 550 cinema, 300 banquet with a dance floor & 350 banquet without a dance floor, 370 school room and every size and set-up variation in-between.


Turbine Hall

Seventy years after starting its life as Johannesburg’s first coal-fired power station, the Forum / Turbine Hall now provides a new source of energy. Its new look, after more than two years of extensive renovations, now displays an iconic venue in the arts and cultural heart of Newtown. With its landmark cultural attractions, unique character and trendy arts facilities, Newtown, just like Turbine Hall, is an exciting collision of old and new.


Houghton Board Room

This conference venue is situated in the heart of Johannesburg's gracious old suburb of Houghton Estate. This Cape Dutch homestead was build in 1935. Its heritage is captured in the furnishing and décor of the Houghton Boardroom. Experience the tranquil atmosphere of this venue, minutes away from the Johannesburg and Sandton CBD with easy access from the M1.

 

SAB World of Beer

A choice of individual venues perfect for your conference, function, celebration or team-building event, in whatever format you want it, whatever time you plan to hold it and however many guests you’re expecting. All venues are designed for meetings, lectures or dining. All the latest in high-tech presentation screens, sound systems and other conference essentials are on offer.


Origins Centre

This conference venue is unlike any other. The Origins boasts five unique venues that cater for a range of functions. Anything from small workshops to cocktail evenings and lectures for 150 seated people, the Centre also has state-of-the-art digital projectors, laptops and microphones. Each room offers its own unique atmosphere. The high vaulted Tapestry Room has 11 hanging panels to the Gallery where a changing exhibition schedule ensures that no two functions ever look the same. There are also smaller rooms that ensure that more intimate functions are catered for.


The Rand Club

The Rand Club was different from many of the great clubs established abroad in the second half of the 19th century. This is because of the turbulent social, political and financial background of Johannesburg. Rand Club offers superb venues for corporate and gala events.
