Seventy years after starting its life as Johannesburg’s first coal-fired power station, the Forum / Turbine Hall now provides a new source of energy. Its heritage is captured in the furnishing and décor of the Houghton Boardroom. This conference venue is unlike any other. The Origins boasts five unique venues that cater for a range of functions. Anything from small workshops to cocktail evenings and lectures for 150 seated people, the Centre also has state-of-the-art digital projectors, laptops and microphones. Each room offers its own unique atmosphere. The high vaulted Tapestry Room has 11 hanging panels to the Gallery where a changing exhibition schedule ensures that no two functions ever look the same. There are also smaller rooms that ensure that more intimate functions are catered for.

The Rand Club was different from many of the great clubs established abroad in the second half of the 19th century. This is because of the turbulent social, political and financial background of Johannesburg. Rand Club offers superb venues for corporate and gala events.
